Late afternoon, Friday, Nov 3 a dump truck driver hauling a load of crushed rock lost control of his vehicle and overturned down an embankment on KY Hwy 70 just outside of Smithland. The driver working for a local company was killed in the crash when he was ejected and crushed by the truck as it rolled over. Kentucky State Police handled the investigation while Livingston EMS, Smithland Fire and Rescue, PHI Air Ambulance and the Livingston County Coroner worked the scene. Due to impending darkness the recovery of the truck was delayed intil the next morning.
